Job Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining a current and active supplier surveillance program which assures that suppliers meet Amphenol Pcd quality standards and product requirements. The SQE will be the primary liaison between the supply base and Amphenol Pcd Manufacturing Operations and Engineering to assure that all quality issues are accurately characterized, communicated and resolved in a timely and effective manner.

Summary of essential job functions
• Perform regular supplier audits, on-site, by email, Skype, or web meetings, to ensure compliance with APCD quality, product and associated regulatory standards or specifications
• Proactively identify problems with suppliers and implement immediate corrective actions
• Drive the CAPA and/or SCAR process when supplied product fails at either Amphenol Pcd or at our end user customer locations
• Help develop and maintain supply base performance metrics
• Contribute to the overall Supply Chain Strategy in relationship to supplier selection, surveillance or formulation of exit strategies where required
• Work with purchasing, operations and other quality department peers to assure that all First Article Inspections are coordinated, transacted, and documented in a timely fashion
• Participate in MRB review process
• Actively work across the organization to drive continual improvement of the APCD Quality/Business System
• Participate in the ISO/AS9100 Internal Audit Program
• 15-20% travel requirements; must have ability to travel internationally

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• 3-5 years' SQE/SQA experience
• Proven knowledge of supplier approval process activities
• Proven knowledge of supplier surveillance activities
• Proven knowledge of ISO or AS Quality Systems
• Proven knowledge of Basic and Advanced Geometric Tolerances
• Proven knowledge of Root Cause/Corrective Action activities
• Proven knowledge of Injection Molding
• Proven knowledge of connector and cable industries standard manufacturing processes

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
• Trained AS9100 Lead Auditor
• Multilingual Chinese or French

Educational Requirements
• B.S. degree

Supervisory Responsibilities
• None

Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the work day. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Must be able to communicate with other intra-company personnel. May be exposed to manufacturing conditions.
