What are we looking for?

We are looking for bright, articulate graduates, who are native English speakers and in good health, to work in our school. All candidates need to have a clean background check (government requirement) and do not need any knowledge of the Chinese language-we provide free Chinese and culture classes and in class support. We have 8 branches in Changchun, and have been established for 15 years. We are committed to our teachers and provide full support throughout their stay, with a dedicated Foreign Affairs Officer and a British manager to help them. Changchun has a large ex-pat community and an excellent nightlife. The monthly salary package of 9000RMB (approximately £940) will provide you with plenty of disposable income and the ability to save money, while enjoying a good standard of living.

We need graduates with excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of TEFL teaching is desired but not essential as training can be provided upon arrival. The ideal candidate will have TEFL/ESL experience and 1 year experience either as a teacher or a tutor in a class setting. Qualified teachers as well as graduates with a TEFL Certificate, who are interested in teaching and exploring another culture would be suitable as well.

What will you be doing?

You will teach English as a Second Language to Chinese children of between the ages of 3-16. You will teach 22 hours a week, over a 5 day week. The initial contract will be for 1 year, though most teachers renew for longer.

Who will you be working for?

BDW school is a foreign language school, established in 2000. We have a long history of teaching English as a foreign language to young Chinese kids; some of whom have now graduated from some of china’ s top universities or are studying overseas. We have a total of 20+ English teachers working for us at any one time, whom we train and support throughout their stay with us. We have established links and partnerships with local schools and universities for the provision of exchange programs. We pride ourselves in balancing a great working environment for teachers as well as giving teachers the opportunity to be a part of this great country and city. We’re flattered that a number of our teachers arrive as a recommendation via existing staff to their friends or friends of friends. Many teachers have stayed at BDW for many years, the best testament of our commitment to our students, staff and community.
