Manufacturing Engineer 4 - MiaSolé - United States

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support manufacturing engineering activities on the manufacturing pilot line in Santa Clara, including creating or updating documentation, as appropriate Responsible for transfer of manufacturing processes, tools and documentation from pilot manufacturing line to new high volume factory in Quanzhou, China Support equipment selection for high volume manufacturing Support equipment buy-off at manufacturers Port processes to high volume equipment: characterize and optimize Install materials and process controls with associated metrology tools and statistical analysis methods (DOE, SPC, etc.) Define, develop and source manufacturing materials and process consumables Translate and/or supervise translation of existing documentation into Chinese Provide sustaining support and training for factory engineers Collaborate with factory management on the development of manufacturing procedures, troubleshooting flowcharts and calibration procedures Act as primary technical contact between R&D and factory: lead/contribute to regular calls to factory, typically during evening hours Lead continuous improvement projects related to yield, quality, cycle time and cost; perform engineering analysis in support of improvements, including root cause analysis of complex problems
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a high tech manufacturing-related role (e.g. semiconductor, solar, medical device, electronics, aerospace) Must be bi-lingual with excellent English and Mandarin Chinese speaking, reading and writing Ability and willingness to provide direct hands-on support as required, often off hours Excellent team skills with the ability to form solid partnerships across organizations Exceptional problem solving and root cause analysis skills Ability to thrive in a fast paced manufacturing environment, working on multiple projects simultaneously Equipment and process troubleshooting skills Experience with powder metallurgy a plus MS Office, MS Project, JMP or equivalent International travel required (up to 50% at times)
